By decision of 3 April this year, the Director of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) awarded funding of PLN 995,210 for the implementation of the project entitled “From Experience to Innovation: Toruń and Angers — 15 Years of the Polish-French Double Degree Programme in Management”, submitted under the call “KATAMARAN – Development and Implementation of International Study Programmes – Call 2025”. The project will be carried out in partnership with the University of Angers (France), and is coordinated by Dr Aranka Ignasiak-Szulc, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation.

The project will commence on 1 May this year and will contribute to the further development of the Polish-French master’s programme (double degree programme). It focuses on enhancing the quality of education and increasing the attractiveness of the programme for both students and academic staff. The project includes comprehensive support for student mobility, including scholarships, language training, and activities facilitating adaptation to an international environment. At the same time, measures are being implemented to strengthen the competences of academic staff, particularly in teaching in an international setting and ensuring high-quality education.

The Polish-French double degree programme was established in 2010 and is jointly delivered by the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and IAE – University School of Management at the University of Angers. Graduates of the programme are awarded two diplomas:

  • a diploma from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Master’s degree in Management, specialisation: Business Administration);
  • a diploma from the University of Angers (Master in Management and International Commerce, with specialisations in International Management and Marketing or International Human Resources Management).

In addition to over 15 years of experience in delivering this programme, the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management has extensive experience in running multiple degree programmes. Since 2017, it has offered a triple degree programme in Economics, and since 2023, a double degree programme in Finance and Accounting. Faculty is also involved in projects funded under the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree scheme, including GOALS – Governance & Administration of Leisure and Sports and CLIDE – InterCultural Leadership in the Digital Era (Nicolaus Copernicus University serves as the project coordinator, as one of only two institutions in Poland in this role).
