On 16–29 November 2025, Prof. Małgorzata Jaworek and Dr Magdalena Kuczmarska completed a research internship in Hungary at MATE University of Agriculture and Life Sciences in Gödöllő under the supervision of Prof. József Poór, a renowned expert in the field of international management.
The internship programme included intensive consultations and workshops devoted to the preparation of a joint research project on capital flows in the Visegrad Group countries. Meetings were also held with representatives of the MATE academic staff, including Prof. István Temes, Dr Ágoston Korom and Prof. Sándor Gáspár, which allowed for a deeper interdisciplinary look at foreign direct investment (FDI) in Central Europe.
As part of the visit, a lecture entitled Trends and Tendencies of Foreign Direct Investment was presented to doctoral students at the university, and the scientific achievements of the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management at Nicolaus Copernicus University were presented during a meeting with the management of the Institute. As a result of the internship, cooperation on joint scientific publications was initiated, and work is also underway on the conceptualisation of joint research projects on international capital flows involving the Visegrad Group (V4) countries. In order to further develop the cooperation, both parties have applied for funding from the Wacław Felczak Institute of Polish-Hungarian Cooperation scholarship fund for further research.
The internship provides significant support for the NCU's internationalisation strategy and strengthens interdisciplinary research on FDI in the V4 region. It has also enabled the development of a broader network of academic contacts and laid the foundations for further research projects.
