On 19–20 November, Warsaw hosted an international scientific conference from the GlobState series, organised regularly by the Centre for Doctrine and Training of the Armed Forces. The conference was attended by representatives of the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management: Dr Agata Sudolska and Dr Andrzej Lis. The main theme of the GlobState 2025 conference was multi-domain operations (‘Multi-Domain Operations for Deterrence and Defence: Harnessing New Operational Domains and Environments’).
The conference discussed the evolution of the security environment, current security challenges and the shaping of future multi-domain operations. Dr Andrzej Lis participated in a panel entitled Driving Military Transformation for Multi-domain Large Scale Combat Operations, devoted to military transformation processes within multi-domain military operations. Among the many issues raised during the conference were leadership and the development of personnel competencies necessary for the effective use of modern military systems. This topic was the subject of a panel entitled Human Factor in Multi-Domain Operations: Leadership & Talent Management, in which Dr Agata Sudolska, Professor at Nicolaus Copernicus University, participated. The panel discussed what the ‘human factor’ means in the context of multi-domain operations and why it remains decisive despite rapid technological progress, as well as what characteristics distinguish effective leaders in multi-domain environments characterised by high uncertainty and a constant flow of information. In summary, it was emphasised that well-trained specialists are a key element in building operational advantage in the future security environment. The cooperation between FESM employees and the Armed Forces Doctrine and Training Centre has resulted in scientific publications, as well as reports and strategic analyses concerning the security environment.
