The Dean’s Council and the Medal of Merit Award Committee of the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, have decided to confer this year’s Medal of Merit on Université d’Angers (France). The distinction honours the long-standing, fruitful, and multifaceted academic cooperation between our Faculty and the French university.
The partnership between NCU and Université d’Angers dates back to 1985, when the first cooperation agreement was signed. Over nearly four decades, the collaboration has encompassed joint educational initiatives, student and staff exchanges, and numerous research projects. Hundreds of students and academics have benefited from these activities, gaining valuable international experience and contributing to the exchange of knowledge and best practices.
A major milestone in this partnership was the launch of the French–Polish Double Degree Master’s Programme in Management in 2010, organized jointly by IAE – University School of Management in Angers and our Faculty. The programme enables students to obtain two master’s diplomas and continues to attract great interest. Another important joint initiative is the International Finance Multiple Diploma Programme, conducted since 2017 in cooperation with Università degli Studi di Macerata (Italy).
The Medal of Merit awarded to Université d’Angers recognizes the importance of our shared commitment to the internationalization of education, the development of research cooperation, and the strengthening of long-term academic relations.
The official medal presentation will take place on 10 January 2026 during the graduation ceremony at the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management, NCU.
