Prof. Abbasi's visit is part of the project ‘Sustainable Development and the Society of the Future’ funded by the University Centre of Excellence ‘Interactions – Mind, Society, Environment’. Its main objective is to deepen research cooperation, exchange experiences and develop new scientific initiatives.

During the meeting with Dr Aranka Ignasiak-Szulc, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation, and Dr Marcin Kuzel, Professor at NCU, Vice-Dean for Science and Development, the prospects for further teaching and research cooperation were discussed. The talks were also attended by Dr Joanna Bruzda, Professor at NCU, who conducts joint research with our guest. The cooperation has resulted in, among other things, scientific publications, two of which have already appeared in prestigious Q1 journals: Operations Research Letters and Decision Sciences.

We would also like to invite the entire academic community to an open lecture by Prof. Babak Abbasi entitled ‘Machine Learning in Online Decision Making,’ which will take place on Wednesday, 25 June, at 12:00 p.m. in room V.

The lecture will be available online at: https://meet.google.com/xjm-hwkd-dep

Immediately after Wednesday's lecture, we also invite you to a scientific seminar during which Prof. Abbasi, together with Dr Joanna Bruzda, Prof. NCU, will present a paper on optimising hospital logistics in the field of blood supply management – one of the key areas of joint scientific research.

See you there!
