An expert from the US will be giving advice to start-ups at our Faculty

Whitney Hischier of UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business will be visiting the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management UMK. The expert will give a lecture “Using the lean launch process to find product-market fit for your startup”, she will also hold workshops and undertake consultations.

The offer for participation in this event is addressed mainly to entrepreneurs (especially startuppers), scientists, students, IOB employees and everyone interested in the event.


The meeting will take place on Monday, January the 14th in the building of the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management UMK (Gagarina 13a Street, hall of the Council of the Faculty).


The lecture will start at 10:15 AM, the workshops at 11:15 AM and the consultations at 12:30 PM. The lecture and workshops will be conducted in English. During the consultations, there will be a possibility to get help from a translator.


The meetings are being held by Marshal Office in Torun as part of the project “Lectures and workshops held by scientists, entrepreneurs, and investors from The Silicon Valley in California”. Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun is a partner of the project.

Whitney Hischier is a lecturer in UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business in the field of business. She worked with the World Bank to write a case study on business in Poland. Whitney used to be the assistant of The Associate Dean of Management Education at Haas. Other than that, she used to be a consultant of KPMG, ABN Amro Bank and Deloitte in the US and Europe. She has a bachelor’s degree of The University of Stanford and holds the title of MBA Haas. She spends her free time with her family, she’s also an excellent horsewoman.
