On December 4, 2019 the Faculty of Economics and Management of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń hosted Prof. David de la Croix from the Catholic University of Louvain in Louvain-la-Neuve. The professor David de la Croix came to Toruń together with Prof. Krzysztof Malaga from the Poznań University of Economics and Business. The Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management was represented by the Dean – Prof. Jerzy Boehlke and Head Of the Economics and Finance Scientific Discipline Council - Prof. Magdalena Osińska.
Professor de la Croix is the creator and editor-in-chief of Journal of Demographic Economics. His scientific interests focus on economic demography, human capital and economic growth in the long-term historical perspective and intergenerational conflict.
Among many benefits of the visit it is necessary to underline the supplementing the databases on Polish, Lithuanian and German professors from the universities in the period from 1000 to 1800. During the formal meeting there were discussed and formed arrangements for cooperation between UEP and UMK with Prof. David de la Croix in the future.
